I'm Taylor, the founder of Tec Handy. My family and I relocated to the Orkney Mainland looking for a more intentional pace of life and a great environment to raise our children. In making that move, I saw firsthand the unique challenges that come with Island living—from battling unpredictable weather and securing reliable internet, to simply finding someone to fix things around the house.

I built Tec Handy to solve those exact problems and now after almost three years focusing on mainly handyman work (the demand is high) and after some physical setbacks (repetitive strain) I have now refocused the business to where I originally wanted and need it to be... Less handyman and more tech.

With over two decades of experience spanning operations management, fitness, coaching, tech and as an business owner / founder alongside my foundational roots as a bench joiner and kitchen fitter, I've always been a hands-on problem solver. Over the years, that passion for building and fixing physical things expanded into the digital world. Today, I combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technical expertise and a lifelong passion for all things tech.

Whether I am building a custom, heavy-duty timber standing desk, setting up a seamless smart home network, or installing a Starlink dish to finally get you high-speed internet, my philosophy remains the same: it shouldn't be complicated. I believe that complexity is a barrier. My goal is to strip away the tech jargon and the stress of property maintenance. I focus on providing clear, straightforward solutions that are done correctly and securely the first time. I want to give you back your time and provide true peace of mind, knowing your home and your tech are in reliable hands.
